Play Date

Today Billy and I went on our first play date. We went to Matt and Rebecca's house in Bernalillo. Alicia, Lais and the triplets joined us. It was a very nice day. Although Billy is to young to actually have a play date, it was nice to get out of the house and relax a bit. Before this, the only time I have been able to leave the house has been to go out on errands.

I finally figured out how to do some basic photo editing in Picasa and Picnik. Yay! Probably should have spent that time sleeping but... oh well. I also printed a ton of pics and framed them. Hopefully Brian and I can get them hung in the stairway soon!

Weight

This morning I weighed in at 148 lbs. I am down from 172 lbs from July 5th. Having a baby is an awesome diet plan. Haha!

Shoes

Today we went to the Famous Footwear to get shoes for dad. Of course they only had one solitary pair of shoes in 11 1/2 wide. Not much of a selection. Sadly, my feet are still huge and I didn't even want to look at shoes for me because it would be to disappointing.

Pediatrician

Today we went to the pediatrician to get some tests done that they missed last time we were there. As annoying as it was to have to go back for the second time this week, it was nice to get another weight for Billy to make sure he is eating enough. He has gained 6 oz since Monday so he is doing great! He now weighs 8 lb 7oz.

They took blood from my foot! Ouchies!

Some Weekend Pics

Today we have to go to the pediatrician for Billy's 2 week well baby check. It is a standard check-up, there is nothing wrong with him. They just make sure he is gaining enough weight and that his jaundice is completely gone, answer mom/dad questions, take some blood (poor baby) etc.

First Adventure...

Today Billy and I are taking our first adventure outside without Brian. Our first of many shopping expeditions! Today Mema (mee-maw) is going to join us. Mema is Brian's Mom. We got the name Mema from Sheldon in the TV show The Big Bang Theory.

Of course Billy is in his hip polka dot pants that I made for him!

Finally!

William Norman Cole was born on Thursday, July 7th at 4:43 PM. He weighed 7 lbs, 6oz and was 21 inches long!  He had a little jaundice so we had to stay in the hospital an extra day but he is doing well now.

Update

I have been having contractions since I got up at 6:30 yesterday morning. I went to the doctor at 8:00 AM yesterday for my regular appointment.  Everything looked great on the ultrasound. Baby is breathing well and the fluid levels are good. When I was on the monitor Dr. Stonehocker told us to stay in Albuquerque because I was in prelabor and would probably end up in the hospital by the end of the day. I hadn't realized that my contractions were that close together. I was getting them every 4 minutes for about 1 minute at a time. The doctor told us to go find somewhere to just walk around.  We went to Weck's for breakfast. I had French Toast on whole wheat and Brian had huevos rancheros. Next Brian took me to Hancock Fabrics and I bought a ton of 100% cotton fabric on the $1/yard table. The doctor did tell me to stay on my feet and what better way than to shop, yes? Brian got a hair cut and sat in a little coffee shop while I bought fabric. Next we went to the aquarium and gardens and walked around for a few hours. No change, just the same constant, dull, achy contractions. Then we went to Rudy's BBQ and ate pulled pork sandwiches and ribs. Their slogan on the side of the building is "The worst BBQ on Earth." It wasn't the worst, but it was close. The last thing we did was go to the Coronado Mall and walk around a bunch in there. It was way to hot to walk outside at that point. We finally came home at around 5:30 because nothing was progressing. I went to bed at 8:30. I didn't get up til 8:30 this morning and that is awesome. 


I am still having contractions so hopefully this is the day =) I wouldn't hold my breath though because my uterus is incredibly uncooperative.  Time to go to Lowe's, Albertson's and Horseman's. Maybe between the spicy food and all the walking around it will go somewhere.
